It is a sad end to the search for Julie Popovich. 10TV has learned that scientists have identified remains found Thursday as those of the missing Reynoldsburg woman.
Forensic dentists at OSU have concluded that the body found in a bean field is indeed Julie Popovich.
County workers mowing grass found Julie Thursday afternoon in a bean field along Smothers Road. It is about a mile from where a fisherman found the ID Julie was using the night she disappeared.
Police aren’t talking about how Julie died, but sources say homicide detectives are making good progress.
Julie Popovich was only 20-years-old. Just last week family and friends held a candlelight vigil to pray for her safe return.
The Franklin County Coroner says an autopsy is underway.
I was just wondering if anybody thought it suspicous that Julie reportedly struck her head on a bar while dancing, yet no one but her friends has (the last I heard)been able to verify this report. In fact, I am unsure that anybody but her friends have even verified she was there, though I could be wrong. It just struck me as odd, seeing as how in the Natalie Holloway case it was stated that the earlier statements of the Kalpoes and Van Der Sloot as to Natalie’s falling and hitting her head may have been a way to cover for any apparent injuries to her head in the event her body was ever found.
Not that Julie’s remains have been found, it will be interesting to see what the determined cause of death is, and what role any blow to the head may or may not have played.

the blow to head had nothing to do with the waythat julie died. i know this for a fact, i am julie’s 18 year old sister. the fall off of the barwas no more than a rumor.
