Diane Medlin, 61, Missing from McKinney, TX Since 8/4/2008 … History of Schizophrenia and Suicidal Tendencies

61 year old Diane Medlin of Collin County, TX has been declared missing. Diane MedlinShe was last seen on Monday, August 4, 2008 at approximately 6:45am. Diane Medlin has a medical history of Schizophrenia and she also has a history of suicidal tendencies.According to her husband she has no cell phone or credit cards. However, she did take $200 in cash before leaving.

Diane Medlin, 61, is 5 feet 3 inches tall and 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen about 6:45 a.m. Monday at her home, near the boundary with Rockwall County. She is apparently driving a 2008 red Pontiac Grand Prix with dealer tags.

Ms. Medlin, who was recently released from Terrell State Hospital, is on medication but did not take it with her when she left home.

If anyone has any information regarding Ms. Medlin is asked to call the Collin County Sheriff’s Department at 972-547-5113.

    1. To save money, many psychiatric facilities closed their doors. Then federal law, in the guise of protecting medical information, keeps family members from effectively monitoring a mentally-ill loved one by shutting them out of treatment options, diagnoses, etc. This has resulted in a huge homeless population, saddled municipalities with dangerous downtowns and exposed innocent people — both untreated patients and the public — to the many dangers of street life.

      I hope Mrs. Medlin’s family finds her safe — and soon.
