UPDATE III: Family Asks for Prayers as Search Continues for Missing Boy Scout in North Carolina

MCGRADY, N.C. —  The family of a missing Boy Scout asked for prayers Monday as the search for the 12-year-old continued in a heavily wooded mountain area in western North Carolina.

“We’re doing our best to provide moral support to the family, to the leaders of the troop,” said John Meeks, Scout Executive of the Greensboro-based Old North State Council, which governs the troop and others in the region. “They’re asking for prayers. As you can imagine, they’re concerned.”

Chopper and tactical tracking teams were being used Monday, and searchers were also going to check out drainage ditches. They were to focus their search in the area from where Auberry’s mess kit was found and outward.

“The most probable thing is that he walked away, went out in the woods and went to investigate,” said David Bauer, a ranger with the parkway. (Fox News)
