Rachel Hestetler is a remarkable teenager and apparently a very good swimmer with a strong will to live. She swam in the cold and stormy ocean (7-10 foot waves) without a life vest or flotation device and survived until rescued. The St. Johns County Fire and Rescue crew that picked her up within an hour are heroes. I feel grief for the victims and their families but was struck with the story of incredible survival.

Rachel Hestetler is a remarkable teenager and apparently a very good swimmer with a strong will to live. She swam in the cold and stormy ocean (7-10 foot waves) without a life vest or flotation device and survived until rescued.

The St. Johns County Fire and Rescue crew that picked her up within an hour are heroes.
