[...] The presentation started with several families sharing their stories of their family members missing or deceased that TES had searched for. Many spoke of how they felt helpless and hopeless until they made that first phone call to Texas Equusearch. It seems as if TES does more than just organize searches, they take the families under their wings and offer heartfelt sympathy, lots of hugs and much guidance. Also in attendance and giving a brief presentation was Houston Crime Stoppers who told of their close association with TES. Also the lead detective in the investigation for (Teketria Buggs) the little girl found dead spoke of the commitment and heartfelt efforts put forth by Tim Miller and his group of volunteers.
[...] Corey Brooks was last seen in the Fort Bend County town of Orchard and as coincidence would have it this was also the last place that 12-year-old Teketria Buggs was as well. Teketria Buggs was found by searchers in the Brazos River last. Coincidence? Corey Brooks was last seen in the Fort Bend County town of Orchard — as was 12-year-old Teketria Buggs, Carrington’s stepdaughter, who was last seen a few weeks ago. On Thursday searchers found her body in the Brazos River. Now detectives say Carrington, a suspect in the young girl’s death, has confessed to killing Brooks.
Here's our latest update on the Teketria Buggs story:

<a href="http://www.fortbendnow.com/news/490/searchers-recover-missing-orchard-girls-body-in-brazos-river" rel="nofollow">Searchers Recover Missing Girl's Body</a>

Searchers have found what they believe is the body of Teketria Buggs in the Brazos River, about 2 miles from the 12-year-old girl's home where she was reported missing Dec. 3.

The Orchard girl's body was discovered at about 1 p.m. Thursday by a four-person team from Texas EquuSearch and a cadaver dog, specially trained to detect human remains. The dog and team members were in a boat in the river.

EquuSearch Director Timothy Miller said he and a Fort Bend County Sheriff's investigator were at a bridge on F.M. 1489 about a mile upstream from where the team was searching, when the team radioed they'd made the discovery.

"He cried, I cried, and then we shook hands and said 'yes, we did it'," Miller said.
